Welcome “Julian,” the Baby Lemur

Don’t miss your chance to meet baby "Julian," a baby ring-tailed lemur named after the Madagascar movies’ "King Julian the 13th" lemur king. We are fostering Baby Julian for the summer and he is featured in Zooniversity’s new 2012 summer library program, "Zoo’s Clues." Julian was born at Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch, a wildlife sanctuary that specializes in propagating threatened and endangered species and promotes conservation education. Julian is traveling across Texas this summer, meeting thousands of students and families, at more than 70+ library programs and is also available for private events. Be sure to ask to meet this rare baby when you make your next Zooniversity reservation!

UPDATE: JULIAN IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR PROGRAMS. Julian traveled with us all summer and taught more than 10,000 people about lemurs during our 2012 summer tour. We thank him for being such a perfect teacher and we miss him. He has been returned to Sharkarosa and will continue to teach students about Madagascar and the devastating plight of wild lemurs. Ask to meet Julian on your next visit to Sharkarosa — and give him a hug from us!
