Meller's Chameleon
(Chamaeleo Trioceros melleri)
Africa – "Camo" is named for his incredible forest camouflage: how cool is that! This giant 12-inch long jungle climber has big google eyes, branch-clinging feet and an insect-catching tongue that is longer than his body. Like all chameleons, being touched by humans is just too much stress—so he's show-and-tell only, no touch allowed. Great for older audiences, ages 8 years and up.
This species is on the CITES Appendix II List (may become threatened with extinction unless international trade is tightly controlled.)
