Beat the Heat – Free Summer Wildlife Shows
DALLAS, TX, June 1, 2008 – Beat the heat this summer and go see a free Zooniversity wildlife show at your local library.
Zooniversity, the Dallas-based wildlife education company, is scheduled to teach at more than 50 public libraries this summer throughout North Texas. The free shows are part of the libraries' annual Summer Reading Programs and are designed for reading age children, ages 5 years and up.
Each Zooniversity program features live, animal ambassadors—all former abandoned, injured or abused exotic animals, who now have a permanent home with Zooniversity. Among audience favorites are "Keera," an orphaned joey wallaby, "Ellie," a scarred boa constrictor, and "Rocky" the kinkajou, a former pet who was more than his owner could handle. Young readers benefit from the company's conservation-based programs, all carefully crafted to entertain, as well as to educate.
For a complete listing of Zooniversity's summer library programs, go to the company's public calendar. It is recommended that you contact the host library in advance, as some libraries require reservations or have age and audience restrictions.
