Native Texas Critters

We have lots of Texas animals to choose from. Favorites include "Paco," the Texas Tarantula, "Tigger," the Tiger Salamander, "Chuck," the Chuckwalla, "Tex" the Western Hognose Snake, "Doggie," the Black-Tailed Prairie Dog, "Teddy Bear," the North American Porcupine, and many others. And, as always, each has their own rescue story of how they came to live at Zooniversity.

Native Texas Critters is designed for reading-age students, ages 5 years and up. If younger children are present, we require them to sit quietly with adults near the exit doors. Our Stage Stars Programs are competitively priced: 30-min weekday program $200; 45-min. weekday program $225. No deposit is required and discounts are available for multiple back-to-back shows. Travel fees may be incurred outside of the DFW Metroplex.

And, Lots More for Preschool, School-Age, 'Tweens, Teens and Seniors

Not doing the Texas theme? No problem. We have 18 different courses to bring any theme to life. We even offer preschool programs for ages 3-5 years—simplified themes like Animal Body Coverings and How Animals Move—featuring preschool appropriate animals, no fear factor here! Every program's curriculum is tailored to the age and interests of your audience.

Already Had Zooniversity at Your Library?

We always record what program we taught and what animals we brought to your last performance, so we can change it up next time. With more than 50 species of rescued animals to choose from, audiences always have something new and fresh to enjoy year after year.

Need to Save on those Travel Fees?

It's easy to do with a little coordination. Contact librarians within a 100-mile radius and coordinate your summer reading schedule to fall on the same day of the week at staggered times (for instance, one each at 10 am, 1 pm and 4 pm). We'll come to your area for the day and split the travel fees with each library scheduled. The more scheduled, the less each library is charged—you'll be able to afford performers that were previously out of your price range!
